Ingredient individuality

Thank you for always visiting us. This is Kadokura from Hephol.

This time, I'd like to talk about the materials we use at Hephol.

Gold and platinum.

At first glance, they may all appear to have the same shine, but the difference becomes clear when you actually touch and work with them.

The resistance when shaving, the way they shine after polishing, and how they age over time. Each material has its own unique "quirks," and rather than one being superior to another, I believe each has a suitable role depending on the design and composition.

At Hephol, we primarily use K18YG, Pt950, and SV925. For custom orders, we may suggest other metals, but even then, it always starts with assessing the compatibility with the coins and gemstones to be used.

The tone of color, the balance of weight, and how they will blend in as years and decades pass. We physically arrange the materials and repeatedly examine them from multiple angles.

Even with the same design, the impression of a piece of jewelry changes significantly depending on the material chosen. Instead of "deciding the shape and then fitting the material," we "arrange the material and coin, and gradually explore the shape through ongoing dialogue."

That is the craftsmanship Hephol values.
