Introducing the MONOLITH Coin Ring - Apollo
Share
Thank you for always reading. This is Kadokura from Hephol.
This time, I'd like to introduce a slightly smaller coin ring.
MONOLITH - Apollo (K18YG)
A signet ring set with a coin issued in Kebren, an ancient city in the Troad region (modern-day Turkey).

This is a small bronze coin believed to have been minted around the 4th century BC.
The obverse depicts the profile of the sun god Apollo wearing a laurel wreath, and the reverse features a ram's head.

Apollo coins often depict a lyre, one of Apollo's attributes (symbols), on the reverse, but this coin features a ram.
This ram was also a symbol of the Troad region and was the most representative motif in the area.
The laurel wreath worn by Apollo is also one of his attributes.
He grieved that Daphne, whom he loved, turned into a laurel tree, so he wore a laurel wreath as a symbol of his love.
The flower language (leaf language) of the laurel tree is "I will not change until I die," expressing his faithful and strong love for Daphne.

It is available in size 13.
The coin itself is also on the smaller side among MONOLITH pieces, and its height is suppressed, so it should feel comfortable on the hand.
The contrast between the slightly greenish coin and the K18 yellow gold makes for a truly beautiful piece.
Since the coin itself is very beautiful, the ring setting has been kept simple with ample space and no unnecessary embellishments.
It's not overly flashy, yet it makes a statement. It's a piece that truly embodies Hephol's style.
