Introducing the PLINTH Coin Ring - Faustina II

Thank you for always watching. This is Kadokura from Hephol.
This time, I would like to introduce a coin ring with a beautiful contrast between K18 and SV.
PLINTH - Faustina II (SV925×K18YG)
A serene piece featuring the portrait of Faustina II, empress of ancient Rome.

This coin, issued around the 2nd century AD, features the profile of the empress with beautiful wavy hair.
Faustina II was the wife of Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, the 16th Roman Emperor, and bore 13 children.
At that time, emperors often adopted successors, so having a successor by blood seems to have been a source of reassurance for the people that a peaceful era would continue for a long time.

The reverse side depicts a two-story temple and two young twin brothers, Commodus, who would later become emperor, and his older brother.
The engraved inscription "SAECVLI FELICITAS" (Prosperity of the Age) is not merely a boast of prosperity, but a design imbued with the earnest prayers of the people of that time for the healthy growth of the children who would bear the next generation and for the peace and security of the empire.
After her death, she was deified as a goddess by the emperor, and it was decreed by law that young Roman couples should pledge their love before Faustina's altar when they married.
Looking at her benevolent profile, I feel as if the pure prayers offered by young lovers at that time, and the "feelings for someone" that remain unchanged across eras, are still alive in this coin.
The size is made to order in size 14. Most of it is made of SV, but K18YG is used as an accent.
The coin is bordered with gold and milgrain to add splendor.
The back of the pedestal is decorated with a temple-like motif that seems to elevate her deified self.
